About Us

Kevin and Melissa Laver, the new owners as of Jan 2020, grew up just above the Mackinac Bridge in St. Ignace MI. Kevin graduated High School and immediately joined the US Army.

Melissa and Kevin were married a couple of years later and Melissa joined in on the Army lifestyle. Our son Travis was born while we were stationed in Augsburg, Germany. Our daughter Courtney followed 4 years later while we were stationed in Ft. Meade, Maryland.

After 21 years of serving this great Country we felt it was time for us to return to our native state of Michigan. After spending some time in Holland, Michigan and a few years in Parker, Colorado we felt it was again time to return closer to home to be near our families, and we now reside on beautiful Paradise Lake in Carp Lake, MI.

Danny and Pat Bongionvanni, have been fantastic in helping with the transition and Dan will continue to show Kevin the ropes during the spring and summer. Thanks, so much Dan for all your help. Up North Flags and Poles looks forward to continuing to build on the hard work Dan and the previous owner Jim Kulman put in.

We are very proud to continue the Veteran owned tradition of the business. Rest assured that the Marine Corps has kept the business running like a fine oiled machine for the last 40+ years and the Army is now prepared to keep it America strong for the next 40+ years. Kevin and Melissa look forward to meeting all the current and new clients. We are here to serve you with all your flag and flagpole needs.
